Shooping & De Fryhof
The farm is centrally located to several cities
At the very tip of the Meerdijk in Grootschermer, you will find yourself at the De Fryhof Farm at the end of the world. Yet the Farm is very centrally located.
Alkmaar and Purmerend are a stone’s throw away and Amsterdam can also be reached within half an hour. Close to towns and sights without being able to see them, an ideal combination.
A bus departs from the village to Amsterdam every half hour and you can even be in Alkmaar in half an hour by bike. Nice if you want to go to the cheese market in Alkmaar, for example, but also perfect if you want to combine peace and nature with a wonderful afternoon of shopping in one of the surrounding cities.
Shopping suggestions:
- Alkmaar with a beautiful historic center and cozy restaurants, cafes and terraces around the cheese market. It is 14 kilometers by car. You can cross the road by bike and it is only 8 km. A direct bus leaves every hour from De Rijp
- Purmerend at 14 km with a compact city center and the Koemarkt with many restaurants, cafes and terraces
- Amsterdam center, 36 km. Easiest to reach by bus. The bus takes half an hour and departs every half hour from De Rijp
- Cheese markets in Alkmaar are from the beginning of April to the beginning of September on Friday mornings from 10 a.m. – 12.30 p.m
